Are you a princess? And other social media DOHs! Five Minute Therapy

What is a princess?

Does a hat make a princess? Because the wedding of Princess Beatrice seemed to be all about the hat.

I’m serious! I quickly typed, What is a princess?, into Google and the search results were all about princess hats. Pages and pages about the teletubby-ish antenna she wore to the wedding.

Ok, I can admit that the “w” didn’t register on the key punch. But I think the universe was trying to tell me something. [grin]

But if not a hat makes a princess, how about diamond encrusted pumps? Carrie of Sex In The City thought so. Manolo Blahnik to be specific!

Who said that money can’t buy your happiness?! [laughing]

Money can’t buy you happiness

Money, they say, can’t buy you happiness.

Because happiness is not something a thing can give to you. Nor can you take happiness from a thing. It cannot be extracted like gold from the earth. Because happiness is not in things. For it is not material. It is feeling, it is knowing, and it is love.

It is feeling that reflects our presence in the world. It is feeling that reflects oneness, harmony and beauty. It is feeling that resounds with what is true and good. And the promises of a thousand kisses, falling stars that you speak wishes to, rainbows…

And the hope that glimmers in a thousand tears. That cries out from a sigh. The ache in the aching. Because what is missed and missing is what is true.

Do amazing things

Yesterday, Jessica Northey asked an important question on her Facebook wall.

If tomorrow was your last day on Earth, what would you want to do?

It’s an important question because it focuses our heart on the things that matter most to us. It’s a question that asks us who we are, what we hope for, and what must we do in this world?

If tomorrow was your last day on Earth, what would you want to do?

A Day in the Ordinary Life of Stan Faryna

I’m Only Human

I blog about what’s in my heart. Or on my mind. I don’t blog much about me. Perhaps, because I don’t think my days and nights is good content. But I get feedback now and then.

Every now and then, someone will ask me to write about me and my day. Because, somehow, I don’t seem real enough to them. Not insincere – but as, someone recently wrote, “not real.” Like an imaginary friend.

“Like Harvey?” I asked with a grin.

“More like an angel,” they replied the next day. Who is Harvey?!

I reply: This is not going to be a five minute read.

When everything feels better. And other social media DOHs! 5 Minute Therapy.

July 7, 2011

I’m disappointed. I’m emptying out. Courage is failing me. I’m desperate. I feel tired, nauseous, and I can’t sleep. I want something so much and I can’t have it. It belongs to me. Or, at least, it once did. And it makes everything feel better.

Blog posts that make you always feel amazing

Why do I blog?

A few weeks ago, Christian Hollingsworth of the Smart Boy Designs blog asked me why I blog. I could have referred him to my recent blog post, but something had changed inside me. And Christian was specific in his question:

Share the thoughts of your heart. I really want to know, why you blog.
